Behind the scenes at the Langdon Down Museum and Normansfield Theatre
Monday 1 October 2018, 3pm (lasts 1hour 30minutes)
The Langdon Down Centre, Normansfield, 2A Langdon Park, Teddington, TW11 9PS
Join the museum archivist and volunteers on a behind the scenes tour of the museum and theatre. The visit includes a talk about Normansfield’s history and how the museum was created. The museum was the home and institution developed by the Victorian physician Dr John Langdon Down and his family where a revolutionary and enlightened approach was developed for the care of people with learning disabilities. The Grade II* listed building also contains a Victorian theatre. Today the building is home to the Down’s Syndrome Association.
